Filing With The State
When building a strong business credit image, begin with filing articles of incorporation in the state where you are located. These are the charter documents containing particular information about your business, and establish the company as a legal entity. Each state sets a fee for filing this information, and any other information you file with it pertaining to your small business. Your articles of incorporation do not contain details about the internal regulations of the company, but does include an offer's list the names of the owners, members and statutory agent. The requirements may vary from state to state. The company's financial statements may also be filed with the state. Updating your articles of incorporation with changes and regularly filing financial statements is beneficial in demonstrating that your small business is reliable. There is also a fee involved in filing new documents but it is an essential part of building a business credit profile. |
