The Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security, was put in place to protect citizens from natural disasters, acts of terrorism or other man made disasters. I worked as a Project Manager for FEMA shortly after hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, LA. While I was there, my team and I helped to set up temporary housing for the victims of the hurricane, while the debris was being cleaned up so that the permanent housing could be put back into place.
